Treat web based training sessions like a classroom based event to maximise the benefits.
Web based training can be a very cost effective and successful alternative to classroom based training. To make it effective, treat it as you would a standard training day – so set up the PCs in a specific training room, minimise distractions and interruptions and stick to the agreed timetable. Ideally also provide participants with headsets and set up a conference call (note that the particpants don’t have to be in the same room or even in the same country!) The maximum group size for these events is two at any one time, but the flexible nature of the approach means that very targeted training can be delivered to specific users. You can save on costs and keep the carbon footprint of the training day down too!
